Playlist Patterns - Alternative Design

This is another design I created for the Playlist Patterns Project, there is a line in the song about 'riding a bike down to the sea' so I got to drawing bikes and then abstracted them, hence the bike wheel shapes in this design. I feel fairly happy with both designs I've produced, but I felt the other design worked better at portraying my interpretation of the song. I'm so enjoying designing again and am excited by what I can do next. The next song for the project is my choice 'Feist - The limit to your love' so hopefully I will be posting some ideas for that on here soon.

Hello

Ok, so this is my first ever blog and my first ever post and I really have no idea what I'm doing so please bare with me!!

The main aim of this blog is to showcase my design work and hopefully build up some sort of online presence. Recently I have been been working on a pattern design project called Playlist Patterns with two of my good friends Jo Fallon and Jen Atkinson in a attempt to share our love of design and music and a opportunity to motivate and encourage each other along in the design process. The theme of the project being a pattern design inspired and based on a song - every two months we will choose a song then produce a design in response. The first song was chosen by Jen; 'I speak because I can' by Laura Marling. Above is my final design...
